Accessibility

Wellness Institute of Neurodevelopment (WIN) is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Many of the families we serve live with neurodevelopmental, sensory and learning differences, and we want the site to work for them too.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, cognitive, learning or speech disabilities.

What we have done

  • The site is available in full in English and Spanish, with a language switch on every page.
  • Pages use clear headings, landmarks and a "skip to content" link so they can be navigated with a keyboard or screen reader.
  • All features, menus and forms can be used with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible.
  • Images that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and backgrounds are designed for sufficient color contrast, and text can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Forms have visible labels and clear error messages, and never rely on color alone.
  • The site respects your device's "reduce motion" setting.
  • Long pages include an "On this page" list so you can jump directly to a section.

Known limitations

  • Some older blog articles link to pages on our previous website that may not meet the same standard.
  • Documents provided by third parties (such as lab or insurance forms) may not be fully accessible.
  • The patient portal and chat services are provided by third parties; we have chosen vendors that state support for accessibility, but we do not control their sites.

We review the website regularly and fix issues as we find them.
