Southeast Houston Autism Group
This group is for parents, caregivers, local professionals, and autistic individuals to provide support to one another, to build a solid network in their local area, and provide education and support to members of the Autism community. Come to ask questions and find answers as well as share successes and struggles.
We are an active group providing opportunities for in-person activities and events.

AMC Sensory Friendly Films
Check the AMC website for the monthly sensory friendly film selections. If the film image shows “Buy Tickets” under it, it is a confirmed film. Other films are subject to change until tickets are available. Please check with your local theater to confirm time and showing.
AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to offer unique movie showings where we turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Our Sensory Friendly Film program is available for family-friendly movies and mature audiences. Please check your local theatre listings for specific showtimes, and don’t forget to share your family fun with #AMCSensoryFriendly.

Theater Arts & More! Ages 7 and Up, Austin - South Location
In this 7-weeks program, your child will have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, increase their self-confidence, and build their social skills in a warm and welcoming environment. Our caring and qualified instructors will engage your child and their peers in The Creative Outlet Method featuring activities in theater arts, improv, music, dance, arts and crafts, create-a-story, and showcase. We will be joined by Occupational Therapy students from the University of St. Augustine.
Typical Session schedule:
10:00 a.m. – Welcome
10:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. – Arts and Crafts
10:20 a.m. to 10:30 a,.m. – Welcome Circle
10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. – Theater Arts and Improv
10:50 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Music and/or Dance
11:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. – Create-a-Story
11:25 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Reflections
11:30 a.m. – Pick-Up
Showcase: Our session on Sunday October 22 features the Showcase where your child will perform in an original production and more!
Note: Minimum 6 participants/Maximum 12 participants.

Sensory Friendly Events at Houston Space Center
Space Center Houston invites people of all ages diagnosed with conditions such as, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, to explore science and space exploration in a reduced sensory environment.
During these special days, families will experience a sensory-supportive setting including modified lighting, music and sound effects.
Visitors can participate in special educational activities operated by instructors who are trained to accommodate guests with sensory sensitivities. There also will be a designated quiet room for guests.
Nothing better to catch a kid’s attention than something fun!
From amazing museum exhibits to interactive and educational indoor places, there are many educational places in Houston where kids will be entertained from the moment they step inside. Back to School Splash
For Back to School weekend, the Autism Dads Social Club is excited to spend time with our autistic kids and their neurotypical siblings at the Splash Pad at River Park.
The Autism Dads Social Club will provide snacks, refreshments, and sensory games for kids on the spectrum. Kids will also receive a frozen delight.
Kids should wear swim gear and water shoes. Please bring sunscreen and a towel.
